DIGITAL PHOTO-EDITING

This program is packed with everything so you can learn to manage and print digital pictures, adjust and touch up pictures, and create composite pictures including text. This course is taught using Paint.net, a free downloadable program.

Prerequisite: Be proficient in the use of Windows XP or Windows 7, and be able to download pictures from camera to computer.

NOTE: This courses uses a program called Paint.Net which can be downloaded for free from the Internet. For download instructions, click here.

NOTE: Member pricing is for anyone with a valid City of Kitchener Adult 55+ membership (VIP) card. Prices include HST.

  • Download and Save the following files on your computer
  • Once downloaded, double click on the downloaded file to install the program on your computer

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1  - install this one first if you don't already have it installed on your computer. (See * below on how to check if you have it installed.

Paint.Net V 3.5.10 Download Then install Paint.NET after Framework above has been installed

NOTE: You may already have Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 installed on your computer.

NOTE 2: Windows 7 users already have Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 installed.

* Checking to see if you have MS Net Framework installed:

  • Click Start (at bottom right of screen)
  • Click Control Panel
  • Double click Add or Remove Programs and Windows Components
  • Check the list to see if you have
    Microsoft.Net Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 listed 

For Windows 98, 98SE, 2000 and ME users

  • Download and Save the following files on your computer
  • Once downloaded, double click on the downloaded file to install the program on your computer

Microsoft .NET Framework Use version (x86) - install this one first
Install Paint.NET v3.22 after Framework above has been installed
NOTE: Paint.NET v3.22 is no longer available on the net. Bring a CD and the instructor will burn it to your CD for you.
